Historical          Arlington Heights

Many years ago, when Milwaukee was a new city, around the turn of  the mid-1800s, trading and farming was established by German community and grew to encompass  the southeastern border of Milwaukee, today known as Arlington Heights. The German immigrant trade center developed into the triangle formed by, Port Washington Road, Green Bay Avenue and Keefe Avenue. This area is now much of where I-43 is today.
